Industry Collaboration Effort (ICE)
ICE is a volunteer, multi-disciplinary team of providers, health plans, associations, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies working collaboratively to improve health care regulatory compliance by streamlining, simplifying, and standardize health care regulatory policies and procedures that govern the provision of health care services. The work product of these volunteers is then made available to the public through seminars and posting on the ICE website.
California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC)
The California Department of Managed Health Care is a first-in-the-nation consumer rights project. It was launched to help Californians resolve individual problems with HMOs and ensure a better more solvent and stable managed health care system.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is a Federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services which administers the Medicare program and works in partnership with the States to administer Medicaid, the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and health insurance portability standards. In addition to these programs, CMS has other responsibilities, including the administrative simplifications standards from the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
